Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Hairdressing Assessor to join our team on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for assessing learners in the academy, ensuring they meet awarding body standards while supporting them in developing their skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and carry out assessments of learners in the academy
Observe learners carrying out practical skills and assess their performance against awarding body standards
Provide clear, constructive, and motivational feedback to support learner development
Track learner progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed
Complete and maintain accurate assessment records and documentation in line with awarding body and academy requirements
Support learners in preparing for end-point assessments (EPA) where applicable
Ensure all assessment practices follow quality assurance and awarding body guidelines
Deliver practical demonstrations of hairdressing techniques to groups and individuals when required
Promote professionalism, safe working practices, and positive behaviours in line with industry standards
Requirements:
Level 3 Hairdressing qualification (minimum)
Assessor Award (A1, or CAVA/TAQA)
Strong industry experience and up-to-date technical knowledge
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
Contract Details:
Self Employed/Freelance, part-time role
Flexible hours to suit academy delivery and learner needs
Competitive hourly/daily rate (to be discussed at interview)
