Role Information
The Hair & Beauty Apprenticeship Tutor & Recruitment Specialist is a dual-role position that combines the high-quality delivery of teaching and assessment with responsibility for apprenticeship recruitment and employer engagement. The post-holder will dedicate approximately
two days per week to teaching
at the PGL Hair & Beauty Academy and
two to three days per week to sales and employer engagement activities
across academies.
This role requires a motivated and flexible professional with proven experience in both Hairdressing and sales/recruitment, able to inspire learners, build strong employer relationships, and contribute to the success of Learning Curve Group's apprenticeship provision.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Assessing (approx. 2 days per week)
Deliver and assess Hairdressing programmes up to Level 3 in line with awarding body and company standards.
Deliver high-quality sessions in men's hairdressing, with a willingness to upskill to Level 2 Barbering.
Plan and implement Individual Learning Plans and schemes of work.
Set SMART targets for learners, monitor progress, and ensure timely achievement of qualifications.
Support learners with contextualised Functional Skills and wider learning requirements as appropriate.
Prepare learners for End Point Assessment, ensuring readiness through progress reviews and tailored support.
Track and record learner performance using the LCG e-portfolio and tracking systems.
Provide impartial Information, Advice, and Guidance to learners, including exit advice on progression and employment opportunities.
Ensure safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities are consistently upheld in all learner interactions.
Employer Engagement & Recruitment (approx 2-3 days per week)
Promote hair and beauty apprenticeship programmes to employers through face-to-face visits, networking events, and targeted outreach.
Generate leads, manage employer pipelines, and convert opportunities into apprenticeship starts.
Build sustainable relationships with employers, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and remain engaged throughout the learner journey.
Manage the onboarding process for new apprentices, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with funding and audit requirements.
Work to agreed KPIs, including learner recruitment and retention targets.
Represent LCG at sector events and employer meetings to raise awareness of Hair & Beauty apprenticeships.
Quality & Compliance
Contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes, including audits and inspections.
Ensure all records, registers, portfolios, and reports are accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
Actively seek learner and employer feedback, achieving targets for satisfaction (95%+ learner satisfaction).
Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to maintain vocational, teaching, and sales expertise.
Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, health & safety, IT, data protection, and equality policies.
Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours

Essentia Criteria
Essential
Hairdressing qualification at
Level 3
.
Competence in men's hairdressing; willingness to complete a Level 2 Barbering qualification (if not already held)
Recognised teaching qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. AET, PTLLS, or equivalent) OR willingness to work towards.
Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years' vocational experience in Hairdressing.
Full UK driving license and access to a car (travel required).
Excellent organisational, coaching, and communication skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and Ofsted EIF.
Strong IT and administration skills, including use of e-portfolios.
Passion for education and learner achievement.
Desirable
Previous experience in FE, work-based learning, or private training environments.
Proven experience in a sales or recruitment role with measurable targets.
Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and government-funded provision.
Experience liaising with employers in the Hair & Beauty sector.
