We have an opportunity for a Handy Person to join our team in Sherborne.

Overall function and description of the job

To support the Lead Painter and General Handy Person in maintaining the site, through the preparation, painting & decorating of surfaces and general repairs. The role also involves performing general cleaning tasks, maintaining the building, and ensuring that all areas are in good condition and fully functional.

Main duties:

Prepare and paint surfaces such as walls, floors, and machinery to maintain the site's appearance and functionality

The maintenance and general repair of surfaces, fixtures and fittings. Assembling and installing flat pack furniture such as desks, shelves, etc. Ensuring road and other surfaces are suitable to drive or walk upon. (For example: using a salt spreader on untreated roads or high grip paint on stairs). Carry out projects identified by the 5S program. Care, maintenance and planting of plants, shrubs and trees on site. Move products and materials around the site, using a forklift as necessary. Carrying out the removal of waste and maintaining an acceptable level of cleanliness across and throughout the site. Loading and use of compactor with delivery by fork-lift as necessary Clean windows, floors, and maintain cleanliness across the site. Empty trash and ensure proper disposal of waste. Operate and maintain equipment such as floor cleaners. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all workspaces and equipment. Report any major repairs or structural issues to management, ensuring timely attention and resolution. Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all staff. Ensure the outside yard remains clean and tidy, contributing to the overall site appearance.
