About Lanswood

Established property development company with a reputation for delivery high-quality commercial and residential projects in and around Colchester. Seeking a skilled and reliable handyman/decorator to join our team and help maintain the excellent standards across our properties. This position will involve a variety of maintenance, repair and finishing tasks across our developments.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments across our properties Perform high-quality decorating and finishing work, including painting, wallpapering, filling, sanding, and surface preparation. Undertake basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks (as appropriate to experience). Complete snagging work and final touch-ups on newly developed or refurbished properties. Assist with property fit-outs and site preparation for new tenants or owners. Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and health & safety regulations. Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good condition. Communicate effectively with site managers, project teams, and contractors to ensure smooth workflow.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Full UK driving licence (required) Proven experience as a handyman, decorator, or multi-trade operative (required) Excellent painting and decorating skills with strong attention to detail Competence in basic maintenance across multiple trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team Understanding of safe working practices and health and safety procedures Previous experience working for a property developer, contractor, or facilities management company Knowledge of modern materials and finishing techniques Basic IT proficiency and an open-minded approach to using digital systems for task management and scheduling Friendly and approachable manner with good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with tenants, buyers, and customers
