Nairn Golf Club, a historic and prestigious club established in 1887, is located on the stunning shores of the Moray Firth. Known for our world-class golf course and beautifully maintained grounds and buildings, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Handyman/Gardener to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring that our facilities and landscapes remain in top condition, providing an exceptional environment for our members and guests.
Role Overview
:
As a Handyman/Gardener at Nairn Golf Club, you will be responsible for the maintenance and care of both the club's buildings and the landscaped areas around the Clubhouse and car park. Your role will involve a variety of tasks ranging from general repairs to gardening and groundskeeping, ensuring that the club's appearance and functionality meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Perform general maintenance and repair work around the club, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
- Maintain the club's gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas, including mowing, pruning, planting, and weeding.
- Assist in the upkeep of paths, fences, and other outdoor structures.
- Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, snow removal, and gritting paths in winter.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify areas that need attention.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down for events and other club activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to gardening and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
:
- Proven experience in a handyman, trade or gardening role, preferably within a hospitality, sports, or large estate setting is beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of gardening practices, plant care, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance across various trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Good physical stamina, with the ability to perform manual labour outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach that demonstrates a pride in your work.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
