St. Anne's Care Home was founded by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Paul to meet the needs of the frail and elderly Residents, enabling them to maintain the activities of living in an atmosphere of care, peace, and comfort.
PROVISION OF CARE
Care is provided by a team of staff within the Home, working under the direction of the Manager. We personalise care and support according to the wishes and preferences of residents within their individual care plans. The care plan is co-produced with residents, and continually evaluated to ensure holistic value led care.
DIMENSIONS
Members of Staff will report directly to you either in person or in writing any repairs or concerns that require attention.
You will not be directly responsible for any budgets but must be aware of the need to work within them.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (but not restricted to:)

Support best practice, quality and compliance so that residents experience a high quality living environment.
Support the Manager in communicating any environmental or equipment defects throughout the home.
Ensure regular monitoring of standards of practice to exceed quality and compliance standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge by reading policies and procedures regularly.
Manage your responsibilities under the Health and Safety Policy, taking all possible steps to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain and encourage a safe working environment and report on any areas of concern immediately to the Manager.
Conduct safety tours of the home for all personal inductions
Provide emergency on-call communication, and potentially in-person support if needed.
Develop, implement and monitor the maintenance schedule/Quality Dashboard.
Ensure all reports are accurately completed within specific time frames.
Produce accurate documentation as required and keep up-to-date records of statutory inspections.
Ensure monthly and annual preventative maintenance checks are scheduled and carried out in a timely manner.
Organise and manage contractor on site visits by ensuring relevant compliance paperwork is available, prior to work commencing, i.e., Permit to work, Liability Insurance, Risk Assessments, HSE Policy etc.
Maintain the Contractors Documentation Register on an annual basis.
Undertake minor quoted works from initial outset, through installation to completion as required whilst ensuring all necessary testing is conducted where required.
Ensure you adhere to the budget of the home.
Ensure you work within the budget provided and that work is carried out only after the approval of the Manager.
Where required, you will obtain 3 quotations where possible for all large repairs or acquisitions.
Driving of the Care Home car and minibus
You shall be required to take on driving duties which may consist of driving residents to external appointments or outings in the presence of a care assistant.
You shall have the use of the homes vehicles during working hours.
The above duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be amended to suit the changing needs of the service.
Person Specification
Essential:
You'll have experience of at least two years in maintenance or repair work.
Conduct regular fire alarm and fire drills
Knowledge of hand tools.
A working knowledge of
General repairs and maintenance.
Basic plumbing including the ability to repair small water leaks and replacing seals if necessary.
Basic Joinery.
Basic electrical work including replacing bulbs, fuses, plugs.
Painting and decorating, preparation, painting walls, ceilings and woodwork.
A level of fitness, as you will be on your feet most of the day.
You must hold a D1 and clean driving licence.
Ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, tyre pressures checked, oil and water levels maintained and that vehicles are kept in a clean and tidy state.
You shall be responsible for the collection of prescriptions and any other errands that you may be required to undertake.
Ability to work independently with a cooperative attitude, welcoming with an easy approach.
Good team member with excellent communication skills at all levels
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
The hours of working will be based on Monday to Friday dayshift. Reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirements of the Home.
