We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Man to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills, including electrical, mechanical, and welding expertise, to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supervising junior staff as needed. Strong organisational skills, leadership qualities, and customer service aptitude are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and facilities to ensure optimal operation Interpret schematics and technical drawings to diagnose faults and implement solutions Perform welding tasks using various techniques to repair or fabricate components Manage electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring compliance with safety standards Oversee mechanical systems, conducting inspections and preventative maintenance programmes Supervise junior team members, providing guidance and support during maintenance activities Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally Lead by example in promoting a safe working environment and fostering teamwork

Experience

Proven experience in maintenance roles with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical repairs, welding, and PLCs Demonstrable knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and troubleshooting procedures Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a maintenance or facilities environment is highly desirable Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal Experience in customer service roles is advantageous Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and task management
