Overview

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Man to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical abilities, including electrical, mechanical, and welding skills, to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. Responsibilities

Must hold a full UK Driving license with no penalties. Must be open to travel between our sites working to a time table agreed in advance. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs across various facilities and equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively. Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques to repair or modify structures and machinery. Manage electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring proper operation and safety compliance. Oversee general mechanical maintenance, including the replacement of parts and system adjustments. Supervise maintenance activities, providing guidance to junior team members where necessary. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and organisational policies. Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally. Lead small teams during maintenance projects, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.

Skills

Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Experience with carpentry and welding techniques suitable for industrial or commercial environments. Electrical experience with a solid grasp of electrical safety standards. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and repair. Proven experience in general maintenance roles with a focus on preventative care. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities in team management. Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with clients or colleagues.
