Job Description
The St Clement Danes Holborn Estate Charity, based in Southeast London is searching for a Handyperson/Minibus Driver. The Charity specialises in the provision of almshouse accommodation, offering high quality independent living for older people of limited financial means.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team and contribute directly to the future success of the Charity and the quality of life of the residents. The property under management is an apartment block of 50 flats, completed in November 2016. Generous internal communal areas and landscaped grounds are provided for the benefit of the residents.
The position reports to the Premises Manager and Scheme Manager and involves assisting with the practical maintenance and smooth running of the site along with driving the minibus when required.
To be successful, you should have good practical experience and knowledge of general maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Premises Manager in day-to-day work schedules.
Monitor the residents' bin store and ensure bins are moved ready for refuse collections.
Frequent inspection of external areas to identify any potential maintenance/health and safety issues.
Monitor the grounds to ensure that it is free from litter.
Drive the minibus when required for residents' trips.
Person Specification:
Computer literacy skills useful but not essential.
Good maintenance skills.
Hold a full clean driving license with a D1 entitlement.
A team player.
Articulate, able to communicate at all levels with strong English and excellent customer service skills.
Able to work to agreed schedules and deadlines whilst remaining flexible with a 'can do' attitude and an eye for detail.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 15.40 per hour
