Glendale care home in Walton - On - Thmes provides quality 24-hour residential care and specialist care for residents with dementia. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyperson to join our team at Glendale Care Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents, staff, and visitors
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep of the care home.
Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical tasks as required.
Conduct routine checks of equipment, fixtures, and fittings to ensure safety and compliance.
Support with fire safety checks, health & safety audits, and record-keeping.
Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required.
Assist staff and residents with practical tasks, such as moving furniture or minor adjustments.
Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, pathways, and car parks, to a high standard.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (care home or similar environment desirable).
Practical skills across a range of trades (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating).
Strong awareness of health & safety regulations.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
Flexibility to respond to urgent issues and occasional out-of-hours needs
