Handy person/maintenance assistant

35,000 per year, depending on experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Handy person/Maintenance assistant to join a friendly estate team on a beautiful family owned private estate, 7 miles north of Haywards Heath, East Sussex. The Estate comprises several properties including a Grade II listed building and is set within 250 acres of traditional parkland area. The Estate has been extensively refurbished over the last 10 years, and the owners are seeking a candidate with the vision to repair and maintain the estate properties and surrounding areas to a very high standard. This includes but is not limited to:-

Carrying out general maintenance repairs or upgrades on existing buildings and infrastructure.

Carrying out and recording regular checks to identify faults, leaks or repairs.

Carrying out regular planned maintenance to a swimming pool, ponds, buildings, drains and infrastructure.

Minor building works

Carpentry

Painting & decorating

Tiling

Basic plumbing

Basic electrics

Vehicle checks and maintenance

General driving duties

Requirements:

Experience in this type of job role

Valid UK driving license

Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the role

Skills in general DIY and maintenance including assessment, installation, repair, and maintenance

To be friendly and approachable with "CAN DO" attitude.

Good attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions, maintenance schedules.

Ability to plan works in a methodical and economical manner.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This role is for someone who is dedicated, passionate, driven, practical, hands on and that works to a high standard. You will need to be a good communicator, have the ability to problem solve and be able to adapt to changing the needs of the Estate and its wider objectives.

Experience with regular maintenance and servicing of garden and field machinery is favourable (tractors, diggers, excavators etc).
