As an Analogue Hardware Engineer at Pico Technology, you will be responsible for the design and optimisation of high bandwidth signal chains, from input connectors through to ADC integration. You will develop low noise front ends, manage impedance matching, and design active filtering to ensure maximum signal integrity. By addressing complex challenges in DC precision, thermal stability, and EMC compliance, you will ensure that Pico's oscilloscopes deliver high fidelity data capture across a wide dynamic range.
What you'll be doing:
Develop innovative product architectures and meticulous circuit designs for cutting edge test and measurement equipment.
Focus on high bandwidth signal chains, ensuring maximum precision through expert component selection and active filter design.
Conduct detailed design calculations and simulations to validate performance, contributing to rigorous design reviews.
Own the process from initial concept through to manufacturing, including the development of test specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Support mandatory approvals and provide technical insights to ensure products meet essential safety and EMC standards.
Work closely with the Product Line team on project scoping while providing professional development and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
What you'll need:
Proven experience in circuit level design, including the analysis, simulation, and testing of various analogue building blocks.
Solid experience in RF or Microwave design, ideally with exposure to frequencies up to 8GHz.
Competence with schematic capture tools, ideally within the OrCAD or Cadence tool set.
A creative yet detail focussed approach, with a strong drive to see projects through to completion as a "completer finisher."
An inquisitive, proactive, and flexible attitude, with the ability to work under your own supervision while remaining a dedicated team player.
Knowledge of PCB layout, custom RF connector design, or metrology principles. Familiarity with CE marking (EMC and EN61010) or basic software experience in C, C++, or C# would also be advantageous.
