As a Hardware Engineer in our R&D team, you will be responsible for the design and development of advanced electronic hardware. You will contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to production release, working on cutting-edge technologies that support our high-speed processing solutions.

Key Responsibilities of Hardware Engineer
Schematic capture and PCB layout of complex, high-layer-count FPGA-based boards.
Research emerging technologies (e.g. 5G/6G, 800Gb/s transceivers).
Liaise with component manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate parts and solutions.
Peer review of hardware designs for compliance with specifications.
Maintain internal component libraries and databases.
Ensure designs meet relevant standards and certifications (e.g. UL, CE, UKCA).
Produce comprehensive manufacturing data packs, including programming files.
Collaborate with FPGA and software teams to ensure full product integration.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years in a hardware engineering role, ideally in an R&D environment.
Proficient in schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer.
Strong understanding of electronic components and datasheets.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments.
Good understanding of EMC/EMI design practices.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
Familiarity with PC/server hardware platforms.
Desirable Skills
Design experience with large FPGAs, DDR4, CPLDs, and multi-layer PCBs (20+ layers).
High-speed digital design expertise.
Experience with VHDL/Verilog.
Proficiency in Python and/or C programming.
Knowledge of IP networking principles.
IPC-A-610 certification.
Experience with SMT production equipment (e.g. Europlacer).
