We are recruiting fun and enthusiastic childcare professionals to join the Club Excel team at our Harpenden site, caring for children aged 3 - 4 throughout the holidays.
Club Excel is a dynamic children's multi-activity holiday camp organization devoted to providing an enriching program during school holidays for children aged 3-13. Our core mission is to offer children the opportunity to engage in enjoyable, safe, and stimulating activities through a thoughtfully curated schedule including inflatable bouncy castles, dancing, arts and crafts, sports and much much more!
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Leader to join our team at Club Excel Leisure. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily camp activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants while fostering a fun environment.
Responsibilities
Work within Club Excel's Mini Camp for 3 & 4 year old's.
Provide a safe, secure, fun and stimulating environment for the children throughout the day.
Prepare, set up and also tidy away activities in the room for the children.
Carry out activities with the children in accordance with the planning and EYFS.
Adhere to the camp's daily routine.
Be a confident key worker caring for your own key children making sure you meet the children's individual needs of care and support.
Carry out and complete required paperwork.
Assist with daily sign-in and sign-out.
Ensure a consistently high standard of care, safety, and hygiene is provided each day.
Work as a team.
Report to the Early Years Lead and Early Years Senior Coordinator.
Confidently speak with your key worker parents if required.
Comply with the company's policies and procedures at all times.
Comply with the company's Safeguarding, and Health and Safety policies and Procedures at all times.
Support the Senior Coordinator to ensure that Ofsted standards are complied with at all times.
Requirements
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
Confident and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work positively with children aged 3 & 4 years old
Confident, approachable and friendly manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility and adaptability
Ability to lead and work positively as part of a team
Ability to use own initiative and excellent multi-tasking ability
Reliable and good work ethic
Knowledge of EYFS framework is preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to create a fun, engaging atmosphere while maintaining safety standards.
Qualifications/Experience - Ideally you will have:
Must
hold a minimum Level 2 OR 3 Childcare and Education qualification or NQTS, QTS
2 years minimum experience of working with children aged 3 - 4 years.
A Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain.
Experience of working with children in a school, camp or activity setting.
Confident knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
Knowledge of Ofsted requirements
Knowledge of Safeguarding
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain.
Personal Development CDP
All staff are observed in the first week of employment & have appraisals and goal setting tasks.
Weekly/Bi-weekly training or feedback sessions with the Camp Director.
Health & Safety
To comply with all health and safety, first aid and welfare procedures as required by Club Excel.
Be aware of relevant fire, health, and safety issues at your venue and around the camp.
Child Protection & Safeguarding
All staff share the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and must adhere to, and comply with, all Club Excel's Safeguarding Policy.
To provide safety and welfare assistance to children.
To be vigilant for possible welfare problems of children.
Club Excel Reputation & Code of Conduct
To actively support Club Excel in its mission to provide quality childcare and activities.
To be dressed in a presentable professional way (always wearing the correct staff kit) and always be on time. If this is not possible you must inform your manager as early as possible.
Develop a good rapport with the children and other staff.

Monday - Friday
8:50 am - 3:50 pm, 8.50am-5.30pm, 8.10am-5.30pm (opportunities to work extra hours in wraparound care early and late club)
