Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care home settings. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management. Support individuals in maintaining their independence and dignity while promoting their physical and emotional well-being. Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring they feel heard and understood while addressing any concerns they may have. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring all information is kept confidential and secure.

Requirements

Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential. Strong command of English, both spoken and written, to facilitate effective communication with clients and colleagues. Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients as required. Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. DBS needs to be on the update service.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
