Location: York Campus



Contract Type: Part-time - 18 hours, Fixed Term - 2 years



Salary: 27,270-29,676 per annum, pro rata

Askham Bryan College is seeking a dedicated and proactive

Higher Education Life Coach

to join our Student Success and Wellbeing team. This pivotal role will support our students to overcome barriers, build resilience, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:



The Higher Education Life Coach will to students, focusing on personal development, wellbeing, confidence, and resilience. Linking in and meeting the relevant requirements of the Access and Participation Plan (APP).

Identify and support students who may be at risk of disengagement, mental health concerns, or underperformance. Develop bespoke action plans to help students overcome barriers and achieve academic and personal success. Collaborate with academic and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Deliver workshops on topics such as motivation, time management, goal setting, and self-care. Signpost to internal and external support services where necessary. Contribute to the continuous improvement of student support systems and the enhancement of the HE student experience.

The successful candidate will:


Act as a mentor and positive role model to HE students.
Maintain accurate records of coaching interactions in line with data protection policies.
Monitor student progress and proactively follow up on support plans.
Participate in staff development opportunities to maintain current knowledge of coaching methods and student support best practices.
Engage with cross-college initiatives that promote inclusivity, student voice, and wellbeing.
