ABOUT THE ROLE

Position Summary:

The Head Bartender plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience at our bar. Beyond preparing and serving outstanding beverages, they oversee the bar team, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and uphold the highest standards of service and presentation. The Head Bartender is both a hands-on mixologist and a leader, mentoring bartenders, managing inventory, and collaborating with management to deliver an exceptional experience for every guest. They are experts in classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings, and they maintain an up-to-date knowledge of food pairings to confidently engage with guests. The Head Bartender will report directly into the FOH Manager while managing the Bar Team of Baristas and Bartenders as their direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

Welcome and engage all guests, providing recommendations and informing them of specials, new menu items, or unique beverage offerings. Lead and supervise the bar team, ensuring consistency in service, preparation, and guest interaction. Prepare and execute all beverage menu items, including but not limited to cocktails, wine, beer, coffee, tea, juices, and non-alcoholic creations. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized bar environment at all times. Train and mentor bar staff on recipes, service standards, and guest engagement. Monitor and manage inventory of all spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies to prevent stockouts or waste. Resolve guest concerns or service issues directly and partner with management when needed. Partner with the Front of House, Back of House, and Management teams to ensure seamless service. Contribute to the creation of seasonal or special cocktail menus, reflecting brand values and guest preferences.

Special Projects/Tasks:

Assist in planning and executing on-site and off-site events, including private functions and brand activations. Support new menu launches, tastings, and promotional events. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

Availability:

Open and flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, overnights, holidays, and special events.

Licenses/Certificates:

Valid Alcohol Service Certificate (preferred). Valid Food Handler/ServSafe Certificate (preferred).

Experience:

4+ years in the Food & Beverage industry. 3+ years of bartending experience, with demonstrated expertise in mixology. 2+ year in a supervisory or lead bartender role. Experience in high-volume, guest-facing environments. POS system and cash/card transaction handling experience.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management skills. Advanced knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, twist, and stand/walk for prolonged periods.
