The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a knack for creating exceptional experiences for our guests. As senior bar staff you will be responsible for drinks and food service in a friendly and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, to both our very important locals as well as restaurant guests in our busy bar.
Duties
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders and table service where possible, and offering recommendations.
Maintain a clean and organised bar area, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained.
Monitor inventory levels of drinks and supplies, restocking as necessary.
Adhere to food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of food orders when applicable.
Assist in training new staff members on bar procedures and best practices.
Cellar management & stock management
Additional duties
Menu and promotions:
Stay updated on drink trends, inform staff about daily specials, and potentially assist in creating new menu items or seasonal specials.
Liaison:
Coordinate with other departments, such as the kitchen, to ensure smooth service and clear communication.
Special events:
Assist with setting up and servicing special functions and events as needed
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is a must, busy pub experience preferred
Cellar & cask ales knowledge is essential
Strong time management skills to handle busy periods effectively.
Cocktail knowledge required
Basic maths skills for processing payments and managing tabs.
Knowledge of food safety practices is essential
A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to interact with guests positively.
A passion for the hospitality industry and a willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
Experience working in a busy pub, real ale & cellar knowledge is a must, as is the ability to work in the UK. We are in a rural location in Edington, Wiltshire so access to your own transport is vital. Please note that due to the nature of this role, the right candidate must be able to work weekends and be over the age of 18 due to licencing laws.
