to lead our kitchen at

Morgana Court Care Home

, inspiring the team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that put residents' wellbeing at the centre of every plate.

What you'll be responsible for:



Leadership



Overall responsibility for catering services within the home Supporting the Home Manager with recruitment, induction, training, and rota planning for the catering team Supervising, appraising, and managing performance to help the team reach their potential Ensuring alignment with the SilverCrest vision and values Managing budgets, food levels, and stock control efficiently Meeting all statutory, regulatory, and company standards, including audit compliance

Hospitality Services



Creating a dining experience of the highest standard for residents Promoting choice, dignity, and personalised nutrition for all residents Liaising with residents to understand their preferences and feedback Working with suppliers to achieve best value and service Delivering menus that meet dietary needs and enhance wellbeing Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and SilverCrest policies Actively engaging with residents in conversation and mealtimes to support wellbeing

Health & Safety



Overall responsibility for kitchen health and safety Maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times Ensuring all legal and safety requirements are fully met Supporting safe manual handling, including occasional lifting of heavy items

About The Role



What We're Looking For



Qualifications/Education



NVQ level 3 in Food Hygiene

Experience



Minimum of two years catering background Minimum of two years' experience dealing with finance and budgets Leadership role within a kitchen environment (desirable) Health & Safety knowledge in a busy working environment Proven track record in a care home environment delivering quality services (Desirable) Proven track record leading, empowering, supporting and motivating a service team

Skills/Knowledge



Strong leadership and management skills Excellent written, non-verbal and verbal communication skills Knowledge of and competence in Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc

Personal Qualities



Reliable and punctual Able to adapt to change Approachable Confident Enthusiastic Flexible Positive attitude Self-motivator Flexible approach to working hours - able to work occasionally outside of normal hours.
