We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead a team at a care home in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for innovative food preparation. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, and food quality assurance in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of food safety, managing inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction through outstanding food service.
Duties
Lead and supervise the team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and high-quality food production
Develop and update menus that align with restaurant concepts and customer preferences, incorporating innovative dishes and dietary considerations
Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating to meet fine dining standards
Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen
Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail and client specifications
Supervise shift management, ensuring smooth transitions between meal periods and event setups
Train staff on food handling, safety procedures, and culinary techniques
Oversee kitchen staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and team development initiatives
Collaborate with restaurant management on operational improvements and customer service strategies
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting.
Culinary degree or relevant certification.
Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety regulations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
