We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary excellence. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will play a vital role in menu development, staff supervision, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the kitchen.
Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth operation during service hours
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and taste
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all kitchen areas
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
Train and mentor staff to enhance skills, promote teamwork, and uphold organisational standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor kitchen operations during service to resolve any issues promptly and efficiently
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques especially Indian cuisine.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety standards
Leadership qualities with the ability to make decisions under pressure
Sound understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience demonstrating versatility across various cuisines
Effective communication skills for liaising with staff and management
Ability to oversee food serving processes ensuring customer satisfaction
