Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of food quality.
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards in presentation and taste.
Manage food safety protocols, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and update menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills, efficiency, and teamwork.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards.
Ensure all food preparation meets specified portion sizes, presentation standards, and dietary requirements.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive culinary experience across various cuisines with a strong background in food production and preparation.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality establishments is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
