Following the expected completion of the fixed term contract of the current head chef, we are looking for a candidate to build on what he has achieved and make the George the preferred destination for dining in the BoA area. You will report direct to the owner who has recently stepped in to take a more direct role in management of the business.
- Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
- Design seasonal menus for lunch and dinner service and special events such as supper clubs
- Ensure food production meets quality standards and is prepared in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques
- Inventory management and ordering supplies
- Develop new recipes and menu items
- Manage and delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience running a professional fresh food kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Hours:
- Mix of split and straight shifts
- Latest finish 10pm
- 45 hours per week
