We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our busy breakfast restaurant kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment but also enjoys a healthy work-life balance.
Our hours are super social, finishing at 3:30pm Monday-Saturday and 1:30pm on Sundays, meaning your evenings are always free.
As Head Chef, you'll take full ownership of the kitchen: running service independently on quieter weekdays and leading, motivating, and supporting the team on busier days. You'll be responsible for upholding the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and safety while delivering memorable dining experiences that reflect our commitment to hospitality.
This is a high-volume breakfast venue, so we need someone who can stay calm under pressure, think on their feet, and ideally bring experience from a similar setting.
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary from 25,000 per year
Additional earning potential through evening events and a bonus scheme
Sociable daytime hours with evenings free!
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of kitchen operations, from prep and cooking to plating and presentation.
Design and deliver creative, seasonal menus that delight our guests and maintain consistency across service.
Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff, creating a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Manage stock, control costs, and place accurate orders to ensure smooth daily operations.
Work closely with management to deliver menu changes, specials, and events that enhance the guest experience.
Monitor performance, minimise waste, and implement systems that drive efficiency and profitability.
Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and current culinary trends.
Sound understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene best practice.
Creativity and flair for menu development, with a strong grasp of cost control and stock management.
A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience.
