Sekkoya Indian Kitchen & Bar is located in the heart of Canterbury's vibrant High Street.

Serving authentic dishes from the streets of India, from our famous Butter Chicken and Railway curries, to street food favourites like Samosa Chaat to Keema Pau the menu was carefully curated by our kitchen team who are passionate about the food they serve and grew up eating.

We are now looking for a Head Chef to take the reigns, inspiring and leading a dedicated team of seven chefs and working closely with the General Manager to ensure the best Indian dining experience in Canterbury and Kent.

Summary



As the Head Chef, you will lead our Kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences while ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and safety. Reporting to the General Manager, your core skills in cooking, kitchen management, and hospitality will be essential in overseeing daily operations. Your premium skills in team management and supervising will foster a collaborative environment, while your relevant experience in a similar Indian venue will enhance menu offerings. Responsibilities



Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food preparation and cooking meet high standards of quality and safety. Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to enhance culinary skills. Maintain inventory and order supplies to ensure smooth food production. Implement and uphold food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus and optimize service efficiency. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and hospitality.

Qualifications



Extensive Indian experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking. Proven leadership skills in a kitchen environment, with a focus on team management and supervision. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurant settings. Ability to oversee food production and maintain high standards of quality and service.
