Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and are prepared efficiently
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and stock control
Train and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development within the team
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards
Assist in food preparation and cooking during busy periods or special events
Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service and presentation of dishes
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong leadership qualities combined with a hands-on approach to kitchen management
Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments
