Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef to head up a small kitchen team, preparing a menu of traditional Scottish dishes at one of Edinburgh's most iconic pubs,

. This is a busy pub, catering for large numbers of visitors to Edinburgh including large tour groups and as such requires excellent organisational skills and a hands-on approach.

As Head Chef, you will:



Take ownership of the kitchen operation from prep to pass

Lead, inspire, and develop your team to deliver consistent, top-quality food

Develop a positive kitchen culture with strong training, support and communication

Drive and maintain high standards in food safety, cleanliness and compliance

Work closely with the General Manager and Operations Chef to hit targets and maximise kitchen performance

Manage stock, wastage and GP - and ensure everything runs like clockwork during service

We're looking for a Head Chef who brings:



Proven experience in high-volume, premium pub or casual dining kitchens where fresh, home-cooked food is the norm.

Energy and a 'can-do' attitude

Strong leadership skills and a passion for team development

A commitment to fresh, quality food and consistency under pressure

A calm, professional approach - even in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of compliance, food safety, and kitchen best practices

Able to cook to spec and awareness of GPs and budgets

Experience managing labour costs and ensure staffing levels are appropriate

A proactive, hands-on attitude and a desire to be part of something special from the ground up

other responsibilities will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
