We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead the culinary team at our Flagship Restaurant - The Cove. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained at all times. Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure efficient operations.
Develop innovative menus that reflect current food trends while maintaining consistency and quality.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring all dishes meet the establishment's standards.
Manage food production schedules to meet customer demand and minimise waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking, and service.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, menu design and budget handling.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment.
Proficient in food safety standards and regulations.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
Good knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality practices, and customer service principles.
Skilled in cooking techniques across various cuisines with attention to detail in presentation.
Experience in menu development, food costing, and inventory management.
Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and suppliers confidently.
