The Opportunity
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the kitchen, working with supportive owners who value good food, consistency, and a calm, organised operation. The menu focuses on modern British pub food -- well executed, well presented, and designed to appeal to both regulars and destination diners.
This is not a corporate role and not a start-up. The business is established, busy, and well regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Menu development within a modern British / seasonal framework
Leading, training and motivating a small, stable kitchen team
Stock control, ordering, GP management and waste reduction
Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and consistency
Working closely with the owners to evolve the food offer sensibly
About You
Currently a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous ready for a first Head Chef role
Confident with modern British cooking and classic pub dishes
Commercially aware, with a good understanding of margins and costs
Calm, organised and professional in approach
Able to work working independently and well with others
Comfortable working in a rural or village setting
Looking for a long-term role in an independent business
