MEZCAL Glasgow , are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food production, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet brand standards
Manage all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and plating for daily service and special events
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across the kitchen
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure smooth operations
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service experiences for guests
Implement health and safety procedures to minimise risks within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in menu development and food production planning
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving knowledge within hospitality environments
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
