We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our team at GWR. Our current head will be retiring in the new year however we would look to bring in the new Head Chef prior to the years end to ensure a smooth transition.
Salary range from 32,000 plus bonus plus tronc
We are looking to refresh our entire kitchen and this will be a key duty of this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst maintaining cost-effectiveness
Manage food safety standards in compliance with health regulations and company policies
Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies
Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and professional development
Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before service
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Experience
Proven supervising experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Previous experience in restaurant management or as a Head Chef is highly desirable
Familiarity with hospitality service standards, including serving procedures and customer interaction
Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
