Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment Oversee food production, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served Manage food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently to minimise waste Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting professional development and skill enhancement Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation Demonstrable leadership capabilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff Solid background in food safety standards and regulatory compliance Previous restaurant experience is essential, with a thorough understanding of hospitality operations Experience serving customers directly is advantageous but not mandatory; however, familiarity with customer service principles is beneficial
