Dates Required: November 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th

About Us:

The Apple Tree is an independently run teahouse and gift shop nestled in the beautiful village of Ockbrook, Derbyshire just 5 minutes from Junction 25 of the M1 and Pride Park. We pride ourselves on our welcoming atmosphere, friendly team, and freshly prepared food. Everything on our menu is cooked from scratch, and we can serve up to 200 covers per day during busy periods.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced chef to provide temporary holiday cover, leading our kitchen and maintaining our high standards of freshness, flavour, and presentation. The role involves preparing and cooking our popular breakfast, brunch, and light lunch dishes, managing orders, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

Lead kitchen operations during service hours Prepare and cook dishes from our established breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu Ensure all food is cooked fresh to order and presented to a high standard Maintain cleanliness and organisation in line with food hygiene regulations Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs Work efficiently and calmly in a busy environment serving up to 200 covers daily
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or Head Chef Confident cooking and plating fresh, high-quality dishes Ability to lead service independently and manage a small team Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail are essential

Pay: 18.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
