in Leeds is seeking a
hands-on, experienced Head Chef
to take full ownership of our kitchen operation. We specialise in delivering quality dining for up to 50 weddings per year and a range of high-profile corporate events, and private celebrations in our unique venue.
This is a role for a chef who thrives on autonomy, can lead service confidently, and is happy to work solo at times with agency chefs to support brought in as needed for larger events.
The Role
As our Head Chef, you'll be responsible for everything from menu creation to ordering, preparation, and service. You'll manage agency kitchen support for larger events, ensuring our catering meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver seasonal menus tailored to weddings, conferences, and private events.
Run the kitchen day-to-day, working solo on smaller events.
Oversee and direct agency chefs when booked for larger functions.
Manage ordering, stock control, and budgets efficiently.
Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures are followed.
Work closely with the events team to ensure seamless service delivery.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous in a high-volume, quality-led events or hospitality environment.
Comfortable working independently and managing your own time.
Flexible and adaptable to a varied event schedule.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Food hygiene certification (Level 3 minimum)
Experience in banqueting, weddings, or large-scale events catering.
Knowledge of cost control and GP targets in an events setting.
Previous experience managing agency or temporary kitchen staff.
