Ham Manor Golf Club is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation and continue building on the excellent reputation established by our current, very successful Head Chef.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, creativity, and being part of a friendly, well-run members' club.

The Role



Lead a small, close-knit kitchen team consisting of a Head Chef and Sous Chef Oversee a 7-day-a-week operation, working 40 hours per week, flexibly over 5 days Prepare and deliver a varied food offering, including: Bar snacks and casual dining Members' lunches Evening meals throughout the year Private events and wedding breakfasts Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and consistency Manage menus, stock control, and kitchen organisation

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and excellence in all dishes served Manage food production schedules to meet service times and minimise waste Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote professional growth and skill development Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery Maintain a keen eye on quality control, presentation, and portion sizes across all menu items

Working Pattern



Majority of shifts: 8.00am - 4.00pm Some evening work required for functions and events (not every week)

What We're Looking For



Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up A flexible, positive attitude and a genuine team-player mindset Passion for fresh, well-executed food across a range of styles Strong organisational and leadership skills Ability to thrive in a members' club environment Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (HACCP certification preferred) Experience working within hospitality or restaurant settings is essential Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with a commitment to high standards of service excellence
