Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet brand standards.
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
Train staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards to foster professional development.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours, resolving any issues promptly to maintain smooth functioning.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety legislation.
Experience
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and menu development.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
Previous experience in restaurant management or head chef roles is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
