Swim is looking for a talented, experienced Head Chef to take the reins and help us deliver exceptional food in one of Lyme Regis's most scenic spots -- perched on the Beach with the most amazing views.
We're a fast-paced, seasonal cafe bar serving freshly prepared dishes from a variety of cuisines, with a strong focus on quality, creativity, and local produce. Our team? Friendly, hard-working, and always up for a laugh (and a post-shift pint). Now we need a Head Chef who can lead with skill, humour, and heart -- and maybe teach us a thing or two about plating perfection.
What You'll Be Cooking Up:
Leading the kitchen team with confidence, calm, and a splash of flair
Designing menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer cravings
Overseeing food production with a sharp eye for quality and consistency
Keeping food safety tight (we like our customers alive and well-fed)
Managing stock, suppliers, and inventory like a seasoned pro
Training and mentoring staff in techniques, prep, and hospitality best practices
Collaborating with front-of-house to keep service smooth and seamless
Spotting opportunities to improve efficiency -- and actually doing something about it
What We're Looking For:
Proven Head Chef experience
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team
Culinary know-how across multiple cuisines -- fusion, flair, and finesse
Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene management
Excellent organisational skills and a cool head in a hot kitchen
Creativity in menu development and a genuine love of cooking
Hospitality experience and a solid grasp of customer service principles
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends -- but not all of them
