We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and inspiring a team of culinary professionals. Bazaar is a unique restaurant focused on Mediterranean food, with an open kitchen centred around live wood fire cooking and charcoal.
Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and efficient working environment
Oversee food production, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences
Manage food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting professional development and teamwork
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations
Requirements
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques. experience with Josper grills and ovens would be useful
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
