Please note: the client requirements and this role is based on 4-days per week, 7am-4:30pm - therefore the salary listed reflects that. There may be an additional 5th day of work available ad-hoc and paid for as overtime, which can be discussed at interview.

Job Overview


We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to oversee the operation at a small office kitchen - creating delicious, stylish, seasonal food for breakfast and lunch service for 60-100 people per day.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, along with excellent leadership and team management skills. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high level of hospitality and service.

You will be the main point of contact on site for our client, so must be confident with client care, communication and service.

Duties



Supervise and manage kitchen a team of 2 (1 CDP, 1 Porter/Assistant) to ensure efficient food production and service. Support with development and implementation of menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency in dishes served. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment. Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety practices. Ensure the FOH area is presentable and food is served in line with our serving style to ensure seamless service and client satisfaction. Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and minimising waste to optimise kitchen operations. Maintain high standards of hospitality through effective communication with both staff and customers.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within daytime restaurant or cafe spaces or workplace. Strong culinary skills with a passion for cooking and food presentation. Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members. Knowledge of sustainability practices a huge bonus

Pay: 37,500.00-40,000.00 per year
