We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained consistently. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff management, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both staff and guests.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth daily operations
Oversee food production, preparation, and cooking processes to uphold quality standards
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management that reflect current trends and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across the kitchen
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to foster a motivated and skilled team
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
Assist in serving guests during busy periods or special events when necessary
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership roles within hospitality or restaurant environments
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
Strong communication skills to effectively lead a diverse team
Experience in menu development and food presentation techniques
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory control and cost management
Passion for delivering exceptional customer service through high-quality cuisine and hospitality standards
