One of Dartmoor National Parks most iconic village pubs is under new ownership and we are looking for a enthusiastic, passionate head chef to join us on our journey. You will be given the freedom to show your culinary skill and talents designing menus and specials, working with local suppliers to produce elevated gastro pub classics and seasonal specials, to make us the must visit destination pub on the moor

Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, along with proven leadership skills to manage and inspire a diverse kitchen staff. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring that food safety standards are met while maintaining high levels of hospitality.

Responsibilities



Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Oversee food preparation and production, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation meet our standards. Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, local suppliers and culinary trends. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. Supervise inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and customer service skills. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. Monitor kitchen performance, making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes that delight guests. Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail in both food preparation and kitchen management. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to providing outstanding hospitality and enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 35,000.00-38,000.00 per year, with the option of live in avaliable
