What does the job role involve?




To co-ordinate all aspects of the kitchen so that food is prepared to the agreed standard and that time deadlines are met. The role includes but is not limited to: To implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control e.g. menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning and waste control. To identify and recruit all grades of staff under your control within the agreed guidelines. To supervise and develop staff To order catering consumables To have full understanding of H.A.C.C.P, to ensure all staff adhere to H.A.C.C.P and all documentation are completed and sighed are by the appropriate members of staff To complete monthly audits for kitchen reporting any finding to home manager To prepare menus for the nursing home taking into account the content, balance, colour and nutritional values, inline with agreed budget. To consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met. To prepare special diets for residents as directed by the nursing staff. To maintain the agreed stock levels of food. To implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen. To carry out stock takes at the end of each month. To implement four weekly rota. To work within agreed budget guidelines To assist in the preparation of function menus and costing. To co-operate with requests from the Home Manager and residents wherever possible. To attend resident/relative meetings whenever possible. To carry out staff supervision adhering to home policies. To complete all staff personal development reviews Any ad hoc duties to meet service delivery for our residents and home.

What makes a successful candidate:




Must have previous Head Chef experience Simiar environment would be a advantage Experience of managing a team Knowledge in planning balanced menu's Able to cater for specific dietary needs Good communication skills Be able to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities Engage well with people we support in their continuing interests and supporting positive experiences Able to work well as part of a team and independently

Kenwood nursing home in North London is a charming converted Victorian home for up to 32 people who require nursing care or who are living with dementia. Led by a caring friendly team, alongside comfortable living accommodation, en-suite facilities, conservatory leading to a well-tended garden, you'll really feel at home. We can provide a variety of types of care, dependent on your assessed requirements. There are 32 bedrooms, 21 of which are en suite, arranged over two floors and serviced by two lifts. Kenwood is the ideal place for individuals who require specialist dementia care, and with 24-hour nurse call systems, smoke detectors in every room and detailed person-centred care plans, you can rest assured you're in safe hands with us. We provide activities and events, organise hair appointments, arrange visits from healthcare professionals, serve delicious freshly cooked meals, and encourage your independence as much as possible. At Kenwood, we understand that you are unique and will work with you and your family to provide a person-centred care plan, for your comfort and well-being.
