We are looking for experienced Chef to head up the kitchen in our cozy, intimate restaurant in Norwich called Chop. , Chop is an exquisite and unique and dining experience.

Chop features an intimate 26 cover restaurant as part of The Edith Cavell pub in Tombland. Our restaurant area is set on the 1st floor providing unrivalled views across Tombland.

Working in our kitchen, using some of the best, locally sourced ingredients, delivering unique dishes centred around a "chop" cut of pork, lamb and beef.

As Head Chef you will play a pivotal role in overseeing menu development, food pairing and food production while ensuring top-notch hospitality. Managing a dynamic kitchen and maintaining impeccably consistent standards of food safety and preparation in our restaurant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef with flair and desire to have creative freedom to produce and deliver a brand new menu and new food offering in the centre of Norwich.

Responsibilities



Manage and motivate a skilled kitchen team, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment. Plan and design menus that impress. Lead the kitchen team executing high-quality dishes that exceed customer expectations. Oversee all aspects of food production, including ordering ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and controlling costs. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to foster a positive work environment and enhance their culinary skills. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Collaborate with management to plan special events, promotions, and menu changes.

Qualifications/Experience:



Proven experience in a similar high volume, fast paced role with a strong background as a Head Chef. Strong knowledge and experience of cooking steaks and meats. Excellent team management skills with the ability to inspire and lead by example. Proficient in various cooking techniques and familiar with kitchen equipment operation. In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and procedures. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff, management, and suppliers.
This is a 48 hour working week (full time position).
