Happy Wolf Pub Company have now been established for over five years and making big plans for the next few too! We are looking for a Head Chef at the Peacock in Oxhill to help propel us to the next level when it comes to delicious food.
We are a new company intent on doing things the right way, for both our customers & our staff. We are looking for the right kind of people to come and be a part of the growth of an exciting brand, intent on growing & providing loads of opportunities. Our pubs are all based on the edge of the Cotswolds, at The Yew Tree in Avon Dassett, The Peacock in Oxhill & The Cherington near Shipston on Stour.
We have created a unique brand name with the aim of making us more recognisable. We have experience running very busy pubs in various different parts of the country and using that experience, the plan was to do it all for ourselves, mixing all of the best bits together. We specialise in taking on country pubs in excellent locations & doing the simple things well, with something on offer for everyone - with excellent food, drink & customer service at the very heart of what we do!
We are a small, hands-on, independent operator that does not have to answer to a remote head office. We design & create our own menus and have big plans for the future.
Job description
The ideal chef will be experienced and have great knowledge of fresh food preparation, as there will be plenty of opportunity to have input with menu development alongside cooking the food.
Working with fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, you will be enthusiastic & passionate with a genuine desire to learn and progress.
As Head Chef you will be the beating heart of our food offering. You will design your own menus and have a chance to put on some excellent specials to really show your flair. You will manage your own team & have the kitchen just as you like it!
You will:
- Be experienced in a similar role and fresh food environment.
- Have plenty of commitment and a genuine passion for food, training & quality service.
- Be able to run an exceptional food service - taking full responsibility for your kitchen before, during & after service.
- Ensure the safety, security, appropriate storage, labelling & dating of all food stock in accordance with legislation & company policy.
- Be a team player with good communication, time-keeping & organisational skills.
- Be able to assist the team with stock control & operate the kitchen in line with budgets.
This is an salary paid role, wages will be discussed should you get to interview stage. You will also receive 28 days paid holiday, tips & an agreed bonus scheme.
There is also live-in accommodation at another of our sites available for the right person, a car is a must.
