Pinner Hill Golf Club is a member's club and we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Chef to join our team with a view to offering new and varied dishes to both golfers and visitors ensuring that we meet the demands of offering 'food on the go' as well as catering for post-match dining experiences, banqueting, external events and carveries.
As the Head Chef, you are responsible for the menu and the quality of food that comes out of your kitchen. You will oversee menu and dish design to ensure they meet member and guest expectations and that all food preparations are to the required standards, following processing and delivery guidelines as directed by you.
As our Head Chef, you should be prepared to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays, ensuring the efficiency of the kitchen and its contribution to the profitability of the Club. Here are some of the duties we expect of our Head Chef:
Managing Kitchen staff
Our Head Chef is in charge of the hiring and training new kitchen staff and also the scheduling of duties on rotas that efficiently cover the needs of service. You will supervise all the staff activities from the Cooks to the dishwashers.
Budgeting and Purchasing
Our Head Chef is in control of budgeting and purchasing of kitchen supplies as well as maintaining inventory and stock control. You will be required to liaise with the General Manager to agree budgets and target margins.
Monitoring Sanitation and Kitchen Safety Standards
Our Head Chef monitors sanitation practices in the kitchen and ensures that all kitchen safety standards are met. This includes checking kitchen supplies, equipment, and working spaces to ensure they are clean and functional. Preserving our Environmental Health Rating for food safety and hygiene is paramount.
Creating menus and Implementing New Operational Ideas
As Head Chef you are responsible for designing menus that offer quality meals to customers. You will also advise how the food will be priced and presented in a way that maximizes customer satisfaction and the profitability of the Catering operation.
For you to execute your duties well, you will require basic accounting and budgeting skills, creativity and food knowledge for menu creation and expertise in food preparation. You should also possess leadership skills and not be afraid of leading by example in every aspect of the Kitchen and ensure the smooth running of the Club's catering as a whole.
