Duties
Supervise and manage the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food production, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet established standards
Plan menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
Organise and oversee food preparation and cooking processes to meet customer expectations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential, with a solid understanding of culinary arts
Excellent leadership qualities combined with effective communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure during service hours
