Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to foster professional development and teamwork
Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's quality standards before service
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including food production and restaurant service procedures
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Knowledge of current culinary trends and innovative menu development
Strong commitment to high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is essential; serving experience is a plus
Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are preferred
