Having successfully built on the UK's number one wedding planning business, to now include our own wedding photo and film, wedding floristry and decor, bridal hair and make up and wedding entertainment businesses, we are launching a wedding catering and bar business To complete our Group.
As such, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to deliver on our company owner's vision and create an innovative and best value wedding catering offer. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary direction of our business.
Responsibilities
Meeting with couples (on Zoom) and discussing menu options with them and helping to land the contracts (most of the selling will be done by the Company owner - only advising on the calls will be required)
Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu development, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
Deliver successful food tastings for the couples
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
Hire and manage kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food quality and service delivery
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and optimise guest experience
Monitor cooking processes to ensure dishes are prepared to specifications and served promptly
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation at all times
Foster a positive team environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership within a hospitality setting
Sound knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, staff and suppliers
Experience in menu planning, food production, and restaurant operations
Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy service periods
Passion for innovation in cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
