We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Dog Pentrich
. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic kitchen environment. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing food production in a gastro pub setting.
The Pub itself has a good reputation for good fresh pub food so you will need to have a strong background in a similar venue.
We currently have a kitchen team of 2 sous chef, 2 CDP's, 1 trainee chef and 4 KPs
Due to the location, own transport is essential
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish served.
Develop and implement creative menus that cater to diverse tastes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock without over-purchasing.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into the menu as appropriate.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills.
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food production processes, including cooking techniques and presentation styles.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for cooking with an eye for detail in food preparation and presentation.
Previous experience in team management within a busy kitchen setting is highly desirable.
