Head Chef- Brownsover Hall Hotel



Nestled within 7 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, the newly refurbished, Brownsover Hall Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel with 47 rooms. Our mission is to create a destination that offers an unforgettable experience, combining elegance, exceptional service, and serene surroundings. We are striving to become a top-tier, sought-after destination where guests are treated with the utmost care and attention.

As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, leading a team of talented chefs to deliver the highest quality food with consistency and passion. You'll manage day-to-day operations, maintain high standards of food quality using locally sourced ingredients. You will play a key role in showcasing the hotel's offering, ensuring both our leisure guests and corporate clients experience food of the finest standard.

Working closely with the Group Head Chef and Group Kitchen and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for team development, stock management, and cost control, as well as delivering bespoke dining experiences for events such as weddings, conferences, and private celebrations.

THE ROLE:



Lead and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring attention to detail and high standards of food preparation and presentation Work alongside the Group Head Chef to produce great dishes with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Enhance guest satisfaction by identifying opportunities to improve dining experiences and consistently deliver top-tier food. Forecast and manage food inventory, ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO system), and conduct monthly stocktakes. Oversee kitchen costs, manage supplier relationships Lead the kitchen team to deliver tailored dining experiences for private events, weddings, corporate functions, and celebrations. Ensure the kitchen adheres to food hygiene regulations and health and safety procedures, promoting a culture of safety and cleanliness. Maintain strong communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery. Attend regular operational meetings and maintain clear lines of communication regarding events and service requirements. Manage the training, performance reviews, and development of the kitchen team, ensuring all staff have the skills to excel in their roles. Be the face of the kitchen, leading by example and adopting a positive, efficient, and productive working environment.

THE PERSON:



Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring high performance and a positive kitchen environment. Passion for innovative, high-quality food Extensive experience in a similar senior kitchen role, ideally within a high-end hotel or restaurant environment. Strong understanding of budgeting, stock control, and cost management. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy kitchen operation effectively.
